I'm not even at 50% and already feel like the 7.99 for this book was a pure waste. The story is all over the place. Anna is becoming dumber then a box of rocks. I never really liked Max, he just showed up for sex then left. Her partner David, likable. Anna is a selfish, jealous and poor me attitude woman. It's okay for her to do what she wants but is upset when the guys in her circle have their own woman? Like I said, selfish. She's not strong, just stupid.Product details

I love this author & the Anna Strong series. They are usually 5 star books for me..
My problem is with the publisher & printer of this book. Pages 121 - 168 are missing. That's chapters 23 - 38.
In their place is upside down & backwards pages 409 - 456 of 2 different books..
Pages 447 - 456 is an excerpt from Always In My Heart by Catherine Anderson.
Pages 409 - 446 is an excerpt from Sweet Nothings, same author.
I'm returning this book in the hopes they can send me a copy with all the pages of the book I purchased.
I have been enjoying all of the Anna Strong Vampire Chronicles and I will read the next one that comes out. However, this one was just really tough for me to get into early on. I would say that I had to get about 3/4 of the way into the book before I felt really 'hooked'. The last quarter of the book really got me though, tied some things together and *finally* Anna is not hinging everything she does on the 'newness' of her 'being'. 'Legacy' is my least favorite in the series so far on one hand, but on the other I think Anna has turned some corners in this novel so I look forward to seeing how the next one goes as she seems to have made great strides now in accepting who she has become.
This book turned out better than I thought it would. It feels like a transition book to me. Anna still struggles to find balance in her life. The people in her life seem to be getting further away. Makes me wonder what the future holds.
This story had a lot in it. Almost too much. I never felt the story ever took off. It felt like as soon as progress was being made in one thing, the author moved to something else. I'm hoping the next book will have one solid story. The only thing that bugged me was the same old tired topic of Anna having trouble feeding regularly. Still this was a good read.
Anna Strong, a bounty hunter and newly formed vampire with attitude, is back. The more she comes into her own as a vampire, the more she resists the expectations being placed upon her to fully embrace her vampiric side. For Anna is not like any other vampire.
In the meantime, Gloria Estrella, a successful model/actress/co-owner of a high class restaurant in San Diego (who is also the girlfriend of her colleague) is implicated in a murder and enlists Anna's help to find the real killer. Anna (who despises Gloria) reluctantly takes on the case. In the process, she will find herself facing an enemy who could destory her and all that she holds dear. This a thrilling story with lots of twists and turns that will hold the reader's attention til the last page.
I really enjoyed the first three novels in this series, and if you haven't read them, I absolutely would recommend them. I pre-ordered this book ages ago, and was very excited to read it. Unfortunately it was... eh. Just kind of eh. I was happy to read more about Anna, follow the characters and plot along, but all throughout the book, I kept feeling like Stein perhaps was under the gun owing the publisher a new book, and slapped this together quickly. The plot is not all that interesting, and never really gets totally resolved (at least not enough for me). Also, you don't learn much about the characters you already know, there isn't much character development, it's all just sort of in stasis.
I was disappointed in this one, though I know I'll read the next, but might end up getting it from the library, rather than pre-ordering it.
